Martina is a wonderful book that I have used in my library lessons. It is fun and an interesting folktale plus it has cockroaches. How cool is that?

Well this looks like a beautiful book, and I love how you have connected to information about cockroaches, but isn't 'beautiful cockroach' an oxymoron?
ReplyDeleteTo me a cockroach is far from beautiful. In south Texas they are an every day part of life much like Mosquitos.
DeleteEeek - great books, but the visuals have left me feeling a bit panicky.!!
ReplyDeleteThe story is great. The cockroach is gross.
DeleteUmmm... ewww! I'm sure there are kids who would love this one, but looking at cockroaches makes me feel itchy!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Martina the Beautiful Cockroach looks really nice! :) Hehe. I'm sure a lot of reluctant readers would be intrigued enough to pick this one up.
